Oliver Heldens X Becky Hill-Overdrive

I'm not completely sure how to describe my music taste because it's always been such a mishmash of genres, from rap to pop my Ipod has so many playlists I doubt I'll ever be able to listen to them all. You know how easy it is to get carried away with those things right?! Anyway this song is one of many that I hear once and then never again (Or at least not for a few months!) and then the search is on as I try to remember some of the lyrics, this search has been going on for a good few weeks! However I manged to remember the word "Overdrive" Yep just the one! I then took to google and was over the moon when I found the song that had been on my mind for all those weeks! This song is by Oliver Heldens X Becky Hill, now you might remember Becky Hill from the acapella version of free from Rudimental, and I'm sure she's also the voice behind afterglow-Wilkinson. I first heard of her at reading festival when i saw the highlights on tv, so I think I've got it she featured with Rudimental but as far as I know she's not in the band? (Wait are they even a band?!) I think I've confused myself so i'll get off of this subject and onto the amazing song. It's the kind of beat that you'd be thrilled to hear at a party or even just on the way to work/college/school (I didn't want to exclude anyone!) on a Friday morning, as it's so upbeat and fun It's practically impossible to resist the urge to smile and sing along. Yes btw I do both of these and recieve strange looks every morning now! It's so refreshing to hear a nice fun song which is pretty hard to come across lately, and whilst I am partial to some what my dad would call "awful" rap music sometimes I get a bit fed of hearing about "Hoes" and "Turning up" that sometimes I'm just in the mood for some fun music. I'm sure that this will be a massive hit and if it's not I will have a bone to pick with the world.

Thursday Outings- The Old Salt Quay

Whilst Thursday saw probably the poorest weather conditions we've experienced lately, the night was surprisingly nice even by the River. So tonight me and my mother met up with close friends who we baisically see as family, at their regular spot of the old salt quay. Which is a pub by the River that serves the most delicious food I've ever experienced, and the prices are more than affordable! This outfit was probably a little overdressed for the bar although I wanted to wear this dress as soon as possible, this is from H&Ms new collection and it only come to £20. Seeing as it was the last one on the rack I felt like it was a sign from the gods that I needed to purchase it. However they also do have it in cream which I'm certain I will be adding to my wardrobe also. I love the lace detail and it's perfect for so many occasions, so I'm sure this will be seen on nights out as well as on the beach! Oh and the shoes! These beauties are from online brand La Moda and I literally received them this morning, they seem like a shoe that can transform and make any outfit which is what I love about them. They also have a chunky yet reasonably size heel so I'm able to feel glamorous yet sophisticated as there will hopefully be no toppling over. They were also only £28 which I couldn't argue with! I'm also really excited to be getting my hair done next week which is way overdue, it feels in such bad condition that I can't wait to have a little pamper and get it feeling healthier. I'm thinking cut and scrapping the dip dye? I chose my fluffy bank fashion coat instead of the old reliable denim jacket which would have been on but unfortunately it's covered in some unidentifiable sauce so I had to find an alternative.  Happy Thursday Guys.x

Keeping up with the wedding celebrations

This weekend saw one of the most anticipated weddings take place over in Florence, Italy. Yep that's right I'm talking about Yeezus himself and Kim Kardashian. The wedding seems to have been dreamlike with Kims custom Givenchy dress, a performance from John Legend to and to top it all off 7 tiered wedding cake (That I'm sure still remains uneaten by the body perfect guests!).
The couple are reportedly currently honeymooning in Ireland, which after the amount of preparation that the wedding required is less than suprising!
With an 20 minute speech from the groom himself in which he refered to his new wife as the "ideal celebrity...the ideal art” as well as deeming the Kardashians an "Industry" (I don't get the real point either but there you go) and with a lack of attendance from Kims brother Rob Kardashian, Step Brother Brody Jenner as well as power couple Jay z and Beyonce(However I'm sure Kanye didn't mind the smaller numbers)  it sounds like a crazy rollercaster ride.
Reminding us of their extreme wealth the wedding is said to have cost around $2.8 Million and that's excluding the trip to Paris that the family indulged in, Kims dress was absolutley stunning and suprisingly elegant, with long sleeves a full vail and with lace panels the lady of the moment was dressed to kill.
Similar to Kims mothers day gift the ceremony look place outdoors in front of multiple walls of flowers and with engraved place settings at the wedding dinner, it sounds like a dream!
It appears to have been a pretty intimate ceremony with only close friends and family, guests included Tyga Jaden Smith and Jonathan Cheban (That's Kims sidekick you may have seen in KUWTK).
With heartfelt speeches from both the Kardashian and Jenner Klan, we're given the impression that this marriage will be a long and fulfilled one (Unlike the others) best of luck to them I say!

The Bank Holiday Outfit

I hope you all had a great bank holiday weekend, with all the rest and whatnot! Who am I kidding I'm sure most of you are using today as a recovery day after last nights events. I thought so! I always find it so difficult when dressing for things like dinners and get togethers, because I have a tendency to get the wrong end of the stick and dress a little overboard. I'm talking heels new outfit the lot! So for q more chilled girls get together I made the decision to break in my new choies eye dress, just to let you guys know I did originally want the Zara eye dress but as it sold out drastic action was required. And after what seemed like endless searching through ebay, gumtree, depop etc I stumbled across the fantastic website that is choies, it's an American site which is the only downside however they do offer a free delivery service if you're prepared to wait a few weeks, but my impatient nature meant that this wasn't an option so I paid the Extra £9 for delivery. The prices are unbelievably cheap and having purchased from the. The quality is amazing, now this little beauty come to £13 yep that's not a typo it really was this cheap so even with delivery costs it come to just about what the Zara dress cost. This is probably one of my cheapest outfits to date, and I say this with pride because I love a good deal! The bag was purchase on a spontaneous visit to new look, and £12.99 It was too good a deal to walk away from. The ring is also from new look and I'm suprised that I actually feel bare without jewellery on. Normally I am the girl that finds herself unable to find anything in new look, so I was pleasantly surprised at these bargain finds! The outfit is perfect for summery days and even the more windier forecasts that us lucky Brits are more accustomed to. Oh and can I just apologise for the lack of quality in these photos, the weather meant that even attempting to get myself out the door to take some pics seemed like a daunting task.Happy Bank holiday my lovely people.

University of Westminster Fashion 2014

I don't even know where to begin because I'm still pretty start struck on the whole situation. So on Thursday I had the amazing chance to intern at the University of Westminster fashion show, I'm sure the fashion gods were shaking their heads at me because I had no idea that there was even a fashion show held there. However I did try my best to look as if I knew what was going on, oh and did I mention that the university is ridiculously big(as if I wasn't nervous enough!)
There was around 20 of us and we were responsible for showing the guests to their seats, I never knew how complicated it was! I mean orange tickets, black tickets WHAT?! Unfortunately we were told to leave our phones backstage so I wasn't able to get any pictures of the amazing show, however I did snap a really low quality backstage picture so don't say I don't give you anything! There were both female and male models (WOW!!) however in this particular show there was a large amount of ginger haired Models (I'm guessing the designers have a fetish?)
After all of the guests were seated we got to watch the show, and it's safe to say I was like a kid in a sweet shop for the duration. As you can probably expect fashion shows consist of some of the more outrageous ideas of fashion. I'm talking high waisted jeans for guys, dedazzled denim jacketsm scissor and hand hats and even bags that looked like pillows(they probably were actually) I'd say I probably stood out like a sore thumb because when I looked around the room everyone looked so uninterested! And there's me sitting there smiling like an idiot and drooling over the stunning models.
The dress code was all black so I felt pretty at home, although i made the ridiculous decision of wearing my prettiest but most uncomfortable heels. So standing up started to become a problem and my legs were shaking, my ankles were giving way you name it! And what happens when I decide to change into my plimsoles after the show? Of course a model comes out after me, I mean out the door behind me not literally after me although if one made the decision to confess their undying love for me I wouldn't have minded!  I'd like to say I played it cool but even I know I was actually like a 10 year old at a Justin Bieber concert, but I will learn I promise?(eventually)
The Internship is for the Westminster show and the London Men's Collection shows which consist from 15-17 June. Which I am over the moon to be attending! And just to clarify guys aside from this blog I have never done anything involving fashion, so whilst it takes a while to find something you will get a chance. So start today! I found a great amount of advertisements through the website www.fashionworkie.co.uk so if you're a model or someone looking for a job in the fashion industry I recommend that you check it out! Happy Saturday.x

Fashion Newbie does "They say"

So recently I contacted one of the creators behind the new and upcoming online magazine "they say" and I was lucky enough to be presented with the opportunity to create an article for them on everything from my blog to my fashion idols. As you can probably tell by now I love writing and in the majority of my posts I can babble on instead of just getting to the point, so I was exstatic when I was contacted by a member of the they say team to write up an article. I highly recommend that you check it out (not only because my article is In it promise!) if you love fashion then this is definetley the magazine for you! You can find my article at http://they-say.co.uk/fashion-newbie/ and I would love it if you could let me know what you think.

Call me Kylie

I've been dreaming of this top ever since I purchased it and when it arrived from Missguided I couldn't wait to get it on and blog it! (Yes this is my mentality now) incas you can't see in the photos it baisically a crop top but then there's a chiffon side split. I'm so exited to see what I can do with this so be prepared for a few more posts featuring this beautiful top. I can see it being worn a lot on the beaches of Spain in the summer for my first girls holiday, and with out departure date in August getting dangerously near I'm on a mission to get my summer wardrobe together pretty fast. I decided to go for the edgier and more grunge look with my leather trousers and nike Air Force. Oh and did you notice my little neck thingy?! It was a great little ebay purchase and after seeing it on Kylie Jenner I have shamelessly followed her lead. Oh and just one last thing I'm interning at the University of Westminster fashion show later on today so I'll be sure to post some photos up tomorrow, wish me luck!            Happy Thursday.x           Top-Missguided.       Trousers-H&M            Chocker- Ebay.

Millie steals the show-style of the week

I knows there's already a fair amount of talk about Made in Chelsea and pro greens misses Millie Mackintosh, in regards to her Bafta awards ensemble. But I think she looked absolutely stunning and her outfit is more than worthy of the celebrity style of the week. Whilst Millie is recognised for her impressive fashion efforts, I don't think I've ever before quite realised how well put together she is, from the flawless makeup and the killer purple lipstick to the simple pointed court heels i finally know what being head to toe flawless is. So for the Television awards she selected a floor length Julien Macdonald sleeveless fitted gown, with gold embellishment. It's safe to say the beauty did it oh so right, keeping her hair in a sole ponytail and with fairly simplistic makeup all eyes were on the showstopping dress. Incase you haven't already guessed it's a yes from me Millie! Happy Tuesday.x

How to dress for this unpredictable season.

You don't have to be a busy socialite to know that the UK's current weather situation is less than ideal, and whilst style Icons such as Rihanna, Beyonce and Kim K strut around in flesh baring outfits across the Atlantic unfortunately it's just not practical unless a suprise heatwave presents itself and knocks us all off of our feet. Whilst that is pretty unlikely we can still dream right? So how do we dress and prepare ourselves for whatever weather treat is in store? Well that's what I was thinking until I did a little research, and now I think I have the perfect tips that will stop all of you from ever getting caught off guard again. Can I get a hallelujah?!

-So first of all the transportation of the goods, so choosing the right sized bag that will allow you to stay stylish yet prepared. Now this doesn't have to be a Mary Poppins esque bag this can simply be a large clutch bag that will keep your Umbrella, Emergency Makeup Bag and Tissues.

-Just because the weathers dull it doesn't mean you have to be! Rebel against the weather and be sure to wear your most colourful ensembles. Trust me it will make you stand out boost your mood, and its likely that you'll inspire others too. So put down the Black,Grey and white pieces and replace them for pastel pinks, blues and lilacs.-

-Your best bet it is jacket opposed to a coat, because sudden sunshine could make you feel increasingly stuffy if you're dressed for a winters day. I would recommend Bomber Jackets as depending on the material these can provide both warmth, coverage and an added zing of style to any outfit.

-Don't rely on your UGGS and trainers you can always switch up your heels, or sandals (whichever takes your pick) with some cute socks to protect your feet from getting drenched which is never good. This way you can look original and put together whilst actually having the last laugh and having toast toes all season long.

-Big hats small hats they're all the rage right now, and this is fantastic for us because it means we are protected from mascara eyes, patchy skin and possibly the wrost of it all knotty hair stuck to our heads. Ooh that's another thing step away from the instant tan guys, because that;s just it the slightest drop of water and it's running down your body in an instant (Not good!)                                                    I hope you're all planning to make then most of this beautiful weather(whilst I'm working!) have a wonderful Saturday.x

Get your skirts out ladies

So Friday was the hottest temperature Britain has experienced in a while, and who am I to not take advantage of that? You might remember this skirt from the Missguided co ord that I blogged a while back. This outfit I hope speaks to a lot of you because whilst I'm normally cautious of wearing the same outfit twice, With the co ord I've not had the chance to wear it a lot because of the dramatic weather conditions, but today I made the decision to reinvent the skirt. And that's the great thing about matching sets, whilst we may be wary of wearing it the same way repeatedly there's nothing stopping us from switching up the individual pieces. I didn't want to be that girl that goes all out In her skimpiest outfit at the first sign of some heat so I did decide to chuck on my denim jacket just as a precaution, and boy did I regret it! But I'm so glad that we got a bit of sunshine I feel like we survive on such minuscule amounts of sunshine and heat that we deserve a few nice days! The feel of this outfit is very laid back and it's perfect for the warmer days fingers crossed we get some more!

Minty fresh

Like many other Brits yesterday at the first sign of sunshine I threw on a summery getup and dashed to the outdoors. The sunshine just makes evenly thing so much more enjoyable, I just wished we were graced with its presence more often. So on a successful shopping trip on Wednesday I managed to pick up this adorable vest from TOPSHOP and at only £12, I was able to stay within my budget, this adorable necklace was also purchased and I spotted it a few weeks back and ever since I've been dithering and tying to find it(typical!) I absolutely love it and as I'm not usually a fan of jewellery the fact that I could of actually seen myself wearing this I knew it had to be mine.As you've seen from my previous outfit post I rediscovered these high waisted striped jeans from River Island a few years back, and saying I haven't been able to stop wearing them would be underplaying them. The weather has put me in an amazing mood and even more so when I'm hearing that it's here to stay for Atleast a while. I can't wait to not have to wear a jacket anymore! But we all know what this means right? Summer shopping needs to be stepped us a gear(my bank is already crying) I say bring it on! Top- TOPSHOP.
